Spoon with spoonrest

Hand crafted ceramic teaspoon + accompanying ceramic spoon rest. 

Each piece is individually made by hand, in small batches. 

Inspired by the functional simplicity of tableware experienced in bespoke culinary spots across Tokyo in 2019. 

Due to the nature of the clay + firing process, subtle differences in glaze and size are possible, with each set still bearing the same colours and similarities. 

Made exclusively for Ara´kai Beauty by New Zealand born, Copenhagen based Ceramicist Franca Christophersen.

Both the spoon + rest have been steadily high fired to over 1200 degrees. 

They are therefore durable enough to withstand dishwasher cycles, although it is also sufficient to wash the set by hand. As this is a handmade ceramic item, we do caution that the spoons are dealt with care and not dropped. 

High-fire stoneware clay finished in a silke-matte white glaze.
